Assignment Brief:
You must produce a professional Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Report of a proposed development – a new housing development (proposed design shown in Fig. 1) consisting of 51 new homes on the land adjacent to the University of Bedfordshire’s Putteridge Bury campus (full campus area shown in Fig. 2). The proposed development is 200 m long and 100 m wide and must be situated within the boundary marked in Figure 2.
Scoping is the process through which the content and extent of matters to be covered by an EIA are identified by considering the potential impacts that could arise from the construction and operation of the proposed development. As part of the scoping process, you must consider which potential areas of the site that might be suitable for the housing development.
