Analyse a patient monitoring system and records/ documentation used either from your practice or from the lessons in unit 2 to explain their purpose, effectiveness, and possible limitations.
Furthermore, complete a review of the chosen patient monitoring tests and documentation system for patient monitoring chosen for your assignment work to analyse their effectiveness, and make possible recommendations on how the documentation systems for patient monitoring systems could be improved.
Case studies or workplace reports can be used to support your task 1 assignment work to elaborate on key areas.
Your assignment should be referenced using the Harvard Referencing System. Any visuals such as tables, diagrams, graphs, clinical pictures etc. should be clearly referenced and signposted to your appendix appropriately.
Task 2: Assignment Brief
In the assignment explore the importance of patient monitoring and assessing patient factors diligently in interpreting test results to ensure appropriate therapeutic management options in a specific patient group. Examples to choose from include:
- Paediatrics,
- Pregnancy,
- Elderly/ Frail,
- Renal Impairment,
- Hepatic Impairment,
- COVID-19 at risk groups who require COVID-19 treatments
Other examples can be used, but discuss this with your course tutor to ensure suitability

Consider pharmacokinetic issues in the choices above. Explain and evaluate the importance of therapeutic management in the chosen patient group with consideration to patient monitoring tests interpretation.
